Lilly

Another gift for the neighbors, this time a nameplate for the little girl they’re expecting some time within the next two months!

SO MUCH PINK! augh! ;D
this is on cardstock, embellished with a pretty beaded ribbon I picked up at Michael’s in 05 or 06.

Wayward Akitas

A little something I put together as a belated Christmas/thank-you present for my neighbors, who are awesome! Their own menagerie contains, among other dogs, a pair of beautiful American Akitas who love to escape on a regular basis. Sooo… I have dubbed them the Wayward Akitas.

I always laugh when I look at their female, because she has a goofy cartoon face… huge nose, tiny eyes :D that will forever define “akita” for me now :P

and yes, the text is totally freehand, I think it suits the cartoony picture more than any kind of carefully crafted calligraphy would have…

Some Pibbles

Just a photo to keep the blog pokin’ along. The three in the middle are from the litter of pups we had back in February. the little black one ended up being black brindle, and we changed her name to SOAP.

you may recognize Indy and McLovin from my doodles of them :P also pictured are Ghost and Shiva.

Pibble Thoughts

This one is based off of our most recent addition, a bluenose we call McLovin. like from Superbad. only she’s a girl, and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have a fake ID (yet).

one should always remember that no matter how adorable and sweet they are, pit bulls are not to be trusted. they are always plotting your furry demise.

Pibble.

They are so goofy, you just have to love them!

this one doesn’t resemble any of mine specifically, just a mix of a few. big head, stubby forelegs, goofy little bastards D:

love them ♥

Mean To Me

I always feel bad drawing Jack and Sara in tender moments, since it usually means he either just did or is just about to do something horrible to her.

I found out that the protagonists Michael Savage’s novel “Abuse of Power” are named Jack and Sara(h). I found that to be more than slightly amusing…

Why you gotta be so mean to me
Why you gotta drag me down just to make me see
You know I don’t listen good and I’m always in need
So why you gotta be so mean to me

Every Stone a Story

Way down in the hollow, leavin’ so soon
Oh, St. Teresa, higher than the moon

Just what I’ve been needin’, feel it rise in me
She say…
Every stone a story, like a rosary

(Lyrics by Joan Osborne)

Indy the Sad Pibble

PIBBLES! a.k.a. pit bulls. they win the “sad dog face” contest, hands down. they will guilt you like no other.

of the dogs I currently own, there’s a consensus that Indy (depicted above) wins the sadface contest every time. that is her normal face. she typically makes it about 90% of the time.

Tiger Face

Just wanted to challenge myself in terms of technique.

I didn’t use a reference for structure and I probably should have, but all in all, I’m happy with it. :)

Tactical Battle Monkey

Goofy little drawing of the Tactical Battle Monkey… complete with camo hat and desert BDU :P

I have some ideas kicking around for a silly little serial comic, possibly a book, called “The Misadventures of Tactical Battle Monkey”, based loosely on some of the stupid things that happen to me on a daily basis… the best way to deal with flying crap is to fling it back, right? ;P
